As a business owner with employees, preventing workplace incidents is very important.&nbsp; We never like it when injuries occur, or the employees miss time off from work.<\/p>\n<p>For accidents happen there must be a cause, and to avoid accidents we must remove the cause. Each cause is a result of an unsafe act or unsafe condition. Recognizing the unsafe act or conditions, employers can effectively remove the exposure.<\/p>\n<p>The deadly dozen unsafe acts and conditions are listed below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unsafe Acts<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unauthorized use or operation of equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to secure or tie down materials to prevent unexpected movement.<\/li>\n<li>Working or operating equipment too fast.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to issue warnings or signals as required.<\/li>\n<li>Using defective tools or equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Removing guards.<\/li>\n<li>Improperly using tools or equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Standing in an unsafe place or assuming an improper posture (as in lifting).<\/li>\n<li>Servicing moving equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Riding equipment not designed for passengers.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Failure to wear the proper personal protective equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Unsafe Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lack of proper guards<\/li>\n<li>Lack of a proper warning system<\/li>\n<li>Fire and explosion hazards<\/li>\n<li>Poor housekeeping<\/li>\n<li>Unexpected movements<\/li>\n<li>Protruding objects such as nails, wire, or other metals<\/li>\n<li>Improper clearance of congestion ay aisles or passageways<\/li>\n<li>Poor placement, storage, or arrangement of materials<\/li>\n<li>Hazardous tools, equipment, or materials<\/li>\n<li>Poor lighting, high noise levels<\/li>\n<li>Hazardous atmospheric conditions<\/li>\n<li>Improper personal attire<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the workplace there are many ways that an incident can occur.
